What is the EPA?

The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) is a U.S. government agency that ensures products, like bug sprays, are safe for both you and the environment. When a repellent is EPA-registered, it means it’s been scientifically tested and proven to be effective without posing a significant risk to your health or the planet. Mimikai is one of the first new bug sprays to earn this registration in 25 years, proving we’re serious about keeping you protected the natural way.

What makes Mimikai different from other insect repellents?

For over 50 years, repellent protection has relied on conventional actives. At the same time, essential-oil formulas have focused more on scent and feel. Made with a botanically derived active ingredient - not a traditional synthetic repellent active. We believe in thoughtfully designing products from start to finish. Our PET pump bottles include recycled plastic (PCR), our spray mists are packaged in aluminum, and all packaging is designed to be recyclable where facilities exist. We’re committed to making thoughtful choices - for people and the planet.

We hold our ingredients to rigorous standards - including those required by leading clean beauty retailers for our skincare-focused formulas. Our active ingredient is plant-derived, and because we developed it exclusively, we got to build the entire formula from the ground up. No shortcuts, no cheap fillers.
